Direct flights are of course ideal, but you want to make sure that the plane is pressurized and climate controlled as well.  Not all airlines are created equal - some have dedicated pet cargo programs, like Continental Airlines &quot;PetSafe&quot; and KLM Airlines. KLM even has a pet hotel in Amsterdam at the airport!
Also, while Phoenix may have temperature restrictions, some airlines (like Continental) are able to ship pets year-round despite the temperature restrictions.
Hiring a professional pet transportation company can also be helpful to people who need more assistance with import/export requirements, airline routing, etc.</description>
