Dear Friends,

I am involved in this fundraiser because canine cancer has effected my life personally.  Getting involved has been helping me cope with what is "to date" my biggest nightmare.  This is the story of my sweet baby, Onyx.  He was born on 12/21/2001 a very adorable rotti pup.  He grew up to be loving, wild, crazy, playful and a complete joy.  Til this day he still has no idea that he is not a human child. On 3/10/2009 we brought Onyx, who we loving call Ony to the vet. We thought this was one of his many visits for his chronic ear infections.  Much to our devestation he was diagnosed with Lymphosarcoma.  On that day his vision was progressively getting blurry and we feared that the only resolution would be to put our "child" down.  After meeting with the oncologist a day later, he informed us that Onyx would be a great candidate for chemotherapy.  I immediatlely thought "CURE", but this was not the case.  Their is a high likelyhood that he would have a successful treatment into remission but the cancer could return within 6-18months.  We opted to go for the treatment, afterall he deserves it. (Began on 3/12) This fundraiser is steadily heading cancer research much closer to finding a cure.  A cure that will save all of our beloved pets from leaving us all to quickly. I ask that you donate to this wonderful cause to help fund canine cancer research. Their findings also help with human cancer.(All GREAT STUFF) Onyx is my life long friend.  I can only hope that although he might not live long enough to see that day, someone else's friend will.

Update: It is June 20th a very rainy day.  We are currently in week 15 in of Chemo and Ony is strong!  Every day is a blessing and we are remaining positive for a healthy outcome. Thank you to everyone for your support.
