If we all work together, WE ARE THE CURE
To most dog owners, your dog is part of the family.
And if your dog had cancer wouldn't you do everything you could
to save their life.
That is what we are asking for. Your help to save the life of a
dog stricken with cancer. And the best way to save their life is
helping us pay for the development of new, innovative therapies,
and treatments to fight cancer in dog. This means funding the research
that will culminate in a cure for canine cancer.
We’re closer than ever to a cure, now
is the time to beat this cancer!
Through a major project funded by the National Institute of Health,
the mapping of the genome sequence of the dog has been complete.
Knowing the mapping of every gene in the dog, gives researchers
an advantage not yet achieved in humans.
With the completion of the mapping of the entire Genome
Sequence of the dog, we are closer now than ever to finding a cure
for Cancer. Your donation will make a dramatic impact as the National
Canine Cancer Foundation moves life-altering research out of the
lab and into canine clinical trials. Research that also gives us
a chance to save our own lives.
Researchers agree that many of the new cancer treatments
and cures that we find for dogs will also help treat and cure humans.
We now have the chance, that both dogs and humans
need, to find out what causes cancer and how to stop it. The only
factor keeping the research from moving forward is a lack of grant
money. That is where you come in; your donation will fund canine
cancer research.
We want to raise $100 million
for cancer research in dogs, then
WE WOULD HAVE THE CURE.
Leading researcher agree finding a cure for cancer in dogs, is
closer than in humans. And once we have cures for cancer in dogs,
it gets us closer to finding it in humans.
That means dogs are again helping us. Like they do everyday, bringing
us joy, making us laugh, and for some being the only family we have.
They will do it again by helping to bring the cure of cancer to
humans. So lets help them. Lets help them not just live longer but
have a normal life span. Cancer is killing too many dogs at ages
5 to 8 years old
If we all work together, WE ARE THE CURE
So how do we raise 100's of millions each and every year for canine
cancer research?
The answer is simple. There are 25 to 42 million
dog owners in the U.S . If each of them just gave as little as $10
per year we would have those 100's of millions for canine cancer
research. And we would give the most beautiful gift back to our
loving loyal dogs. Their lives.
Do they deserve any less? Will giving up $10 or more a
year affect your life much? No.
But it WILL help save the life of a dog.
And with 1 out of every 3 dogs getting
cancer, that could be saving your own dogs.
More facts,
· 50% of those will die of cancer.
· Sixty-thousand Goldens are at risk of being lost this
year to Lymphoma. That's one Golden Retriever out of every eight.
There's more. One in five Goldens is at risk for developing Hemangiosarcoma.
· In dogs 10,000 new cases of Osteaosarcoma are diagnosed
every year in the USA alone, with the majority of dogs being large
and giant breeds.
· Cancer is the number one overall cause of death in dogs.
Your donation will make a dramatic impact on the National Cancer
Cancer Foundations goal of moving life altering research out of
the lab, into clinical trials and finally into treatments and cures
for our dogs. And then us.
The National Canine Cancer Foundation is a nationwide, contribution
funded, non-profit corporation whose mission is to eliminating cancer
as a major health problem in dogs by funding grants for the scientific
efforts of cancer researchers who are working to save lives, find
a cure, find better treatments dogs with cancer, find more accurate,
cost effective, diagnostic methods in dealing with cancer, and diminishing
dogs suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy,
and service.
Everyone who is part of the National Canine Cancer Foundation has
lost a dog to cancer. And many of these dogs may have had the chance
to live a full life if a diagnosis was made at an earlier stage
of the cancer
In fact, that is why most dogs die of cancer,
it was not diagnosed until an advanced stage.
Lets all of us give generously to find the
cure.
This letter is a plea to all who have experienced or understand
the special bond that exists between a dog and its owner. It is
truly a gift, to be on the receiving end of the unconditional love
that a dog can provide. Help reduce the heartbreak of losing a pet
