My husband and I have had our lives touched in such a great way by our two Golden Retrievers Layla and Murphy. I was shocked when my friend and co-worker, Denise Mendez, forwarded me a link to your website that said 65-70% of Goldens will get cancer. Our Goldens are such a gift.
We have had Layla since she was 8 weeks old, and it has been love since day 1. She is our little diva (even at 80 pounds!!). She thinks she is a lap dog and always gives us so much love. She is in "play mode" at all times, and enjoys playing with us, Murphy, and her friends at Aunt Denise's house, Dutch, Zoey, and Lucy. She also loves to fetch and swim.
We have just had Murphy for a month now and again it was love from day 1. We got him from the Gold Ribbon Rescue organization in Austin. He has had a rough start in life as he was surrendered by his first owner to an animal shelter. Gold Ribbon took him from there where they provided treatment for heartworms, and pneumonia. He is very healthy now, and you would never know that he was sick or that his past was so rotten. He loves to be loved on and seems to be enjoying his new home and new sister. They keep each other very busy.
I think that the work that your organization does is wonderful. The Ruley family wishes you all the best in your efforts to find a cure.
