A Prayer for Tucker

 

Dear Lord

Open wide your arms and receive the loving spirit of our Mellow Yellow Tucker. We think you sent him to teach us about openness and unconditional love. He taught us well. We never could look into his beautiful, intelligent eyes without smiling. He was a wonderful, sweet boy who always had a full body wag and kiss for everyone he loved. In response, everyone seemed to love him back. He was a true Heart Dog.

Lord, until we’re with him again, please make sure that our Tucker gets to cuddle every day. From the time he was a pup, he always craved full contact. Nothing makes him happier than lying on top of someone he loves. Well, maybe nothing other than chasing balls, sticks and swimming. His heaven needs those, as well. Oh, and pears – they are his favorite treat. He loves them and savors each small bite. Please give him those often.

Thank you for sharing Tucker with us. Although his time here on earth was much too short, we will never forget him and always miss his gentle, warm spirit. We know he is healthy and strong, once again. Please keep him in the light of your presence until we can be together again.
